An example would be a government program or a prescription program...something like that. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

Our goal is to be able to spread the word about ways in which those who cannot afford Suboxone treatment can seek monetary assistance in getting the treatment they need.]]>

I am on the Reckitt Benckiser Patient Assistance Program (from the drug company). RB only allows a certain number of people in. Some doctors can only have one patient at a time on the program. It depends on the number of patients the doctors have. 2 is the normal maximum, but I'm pretty sure that if the Dr. has over 100 patients, they can have 3 patients on the program (but that is rare). Basically, just think 2 is the magic number here. You need to go to the website, find the number, and then call for an application. What i did then, was call every doctor in my state and ask them if they had filled their limit of patients on the RB PAP (Reckitt Benckiser Patient Assistance Program). Almost every doctor will say, yes they are filled. But if you keep trying, and are willing to travel a bit for your appointments, then hopefully you will have some luck. Give the application to your dr., then if you are approved, the meds will come to the doctor's office in a couple weeks, and you will always just have to pick them up from the dr. office. the program is good for one year. i think you can apply again after that if you need. hope this helps!
p.s. you can do this for just about every medication out there. find out what drug company makes it, then google if they have a patient assistance program, or PAP. i get my cymbalta for free too. i couldnt manage any other way. good luck, all!! :)]]>

Is it because, based on your drug habit, they know that you can get the cash together? I honestly am looking for some other opinions on this because I can't figure it out. Suboxone is quickly becoming the most common treatment for opioid addiction and your insurance in most cases will cover the cost of the actual drug but you need to pay cash to get someone to prescribe it...I don't get it.]]>

Does Insurance Cover Suboxone Treatment? http://www.suboxone-doctor.com/forums/discussion/9/does-insurance-cover-suboxone-treatments Thu, 10 Jan 2008 08:44:26 -0500 admin 9@/forums/discussions
Depending upon the state that you live in, a doctor can choose what if any health insurance they will accept for Suboxone treatment. Because most physicians in a private practice are for-profit, they are able to charge what they feel the market allows for Suboxone treatment and it is up to the individual doctor to accept or not accept private health insurance.

Here is one thing worth checking out. If your health insurance company would cover your Suboxone treatment but the doctor that you are seeing does not accept health insurance, call your health insurance and see if you can submit the claim to them directly. You will have to pay upfront to the doctor but can be reimbursed by your health insurance company.

If your health insurance company offers behavioral health coverage on your policy then you should demand that they pay your claim. Addiction does fall under a behavioral health problem.

Another thing to keep in mind is that once you choose a Suboxone doctor, you don’t have to stick with that doctor. Shop around after you get yourself set up with Suboxone treatment to see if there is a more affordable Suboxone doctor in your area.]]>
